Romans 3:23 (NIV)

The Word of God also shows us that we have all been offered the very same gift of eternal life from God our Father through His Son Jesus Christ.
John 3:16-17 (NIV)
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

The bible also tells us to care for those who are hurting and in distress and to meet their needs.

Christ himself taught the disciples the importance of serving others when he knelt down and washed their feet.
