coming from abroad. People here try to live a normal life, they even host relatives coming from outside.

Page 5, 400 words, children do not obtain proper nutrition, not only in poor families, but it is also applies

to families who instead of giving lunch to children, give them money and the children spend this money on

sweets, snacks and sodas. According to the Foundation for Children’’ Nutrition, there are 20,000 children

in Hungary who practically starve, 130,000 do not get proper, healthy nutrition.

Page 10, 450 words, designated zone: according to the new law, settlements, communities with more than

 50,000 habitants where there is "systematic, mass prostitution", are obliged to designate a special zone

where prostitutes work. There is however difficulty with interpretation: no specific number is given for "mass"

prostitution. Most towns, cities state they do not have mass prostitution and not going to designate a

prostitution zone. Only Jozsefvaros (8th District) has a proposal for Budapest Local Government, the content

 of the proposal is strictly confidential: the Mafia is strongly interested in the place (presumably with intention

 to buy real estates).

Soros tuberculosis can be found in more than 100 countries, including North America and Europe. The reason

 is patients do not take or do not take enough medication. New versions of TB bacteria developed that are

immune to TB medication.

local government (21st district) where the unemployment rate is one and half time as high as that of Budapest

and every fifth child lives in poverty. It is not easy to give work to all unemployed, solution is still to be found.

part in different medical examinations.

 

Page 25, 300 word: drug use in the army. 40% of soldiers use drugs while they are on a leave. The article

talks about consequences for the soldiers when it turns out that they have taken drug. The National Health

Protection Institute and army’s leadership have launched together a program against drugs and AIDS. A

prevention training program is given to medical doctors for 3 months.

Page 25, 150 words unexamined prostitutes: only 12 prostitutes went to the obligatory medical examination,

 it is due to three factors: 1) lack of information, 2)the exams cost money, 3)they are not anonymous.

Szolnoki Andrea, Vice-mayor of Budapest urges alteration of this regulation.

 In 1998 they suit the Hungarian Government 4 times for careless blood transfusion.

Page 22, 300 words, AIDS contagion in Russia, in the last one year number of HIV positive people has

been duplicated in Russia, now this number has reached 23 thousand. There have been 445 AIDS death

cases. This increase is partly due to the opening of borders and drugs traffic. In Kaliningrad half of the

prostitutes are HIV positive.

men and 62% of women are overweight. In 1997 in Hungary 12 billion forints were spent to cure diseases

connected to obesity.

Page 26, 150 words, infection in Miskolc Hospital: two women who had gone through Caesar operation while

giving birth to a baby were infected by a bacterium that can be found on human skin. Both women were

operated by the same doctor. The director of the hospital says there is no reason to suspect a series of infection.

Page 26, 100 words, beeping contraceptive: a new device, a beeping card has become very popular among

those women who take contraceptive pills. The card is given free by a firm which produces contraceptive pills.

The card will beep at a given time if the woman forgets to take the pill.

Page 20 , 800 words, legal regulations concerning employing the disabled should be updated, at the present

moment they make it difficult for the companies employing disabled, handicapped people to make any profit.
